The next municipal election will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026. Here you can find information for voters, candidates, school board trustees and more!
The Clerk is required to prepare a plan regarding the identification, removal and prevention of barriers that affect electors and candidates with disabilities and shall make the Plan available to the public before voting day in a regular election. The focus of this Plan is to ensure that electoral services are accessible to all electors and candidates to identify and eliminate barrier for persons with disabilities.
This Plan will be improved and updated as new opportunities are identified or become available.

Are you registered to vote in the 2026 Ontario Municipal and School Board Elections on October 26? You can register, confirm you are on the list, that all your information is accurate, or update your information here.
Elections Ontario became responsible for maintaining the register of electors for municipal and provincial elections in Ontario in January of 2024.
NOTE: Please ensure your Algonquin Highlands property address postal code has been updated to K0M 1S0 in order to receive your Voter Information Letter in October! You can update your postal code here.

Electors are hereby given notice that if a greater number of candidates are certified than are required to fill the said offices, voting will be conducted using Internet and Telephone Voting.

Information about School Board Trustees
School board trustee elections are held simultaneously with municipal elections in Algonquin Highlands, with voters selecting the County of Haliburton trustee for the Trillium Lakelands District School Board. You can learn more about the role of school board trustees here.
Register of Future Voters
Using the Register to Vote tool individuals that are currently 16 or 17 years of age can be added to the Ontario Register of Future Voters.
School Support Information
Please note that The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) will remain responsible for collecting school support information from eligible electors. Individuals are encouraged to use MPAC’s online tool to review their school support designation, which you can access here.
