Welcome to the Algonquin Highlands Heritage Portal!

This wonderful work-in-progress continually builds a shared record of the history and culture of our community.

Find a person, a place, a story of a fun fact. You can even help us build an online treasure trove of local history. Be warned: it’s a rabbit hole!

The Heritage Mapping Section features an interactive map with several layers to search including historic sites, local lore, specific settlers, veterans and lake names including First Nations names.
