Voter Information Letters
The Voting period will open on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 9:00 AM through to Monday October 24, 2022 at 8:00 PM.
Voter Information Letters will be mailed the week of October 3, 2022 to every eligible person shown on the Voters’ List. If you do not receive a Voters Information Letter by Wednesday, October 12, 2022 please contact the Municipal Office at 705-489-2379.
The Voter Information Letter will contain all the information in order to vote by internet or telephone.
Voter Help and Revision Centre
Eligible Electors may attend the Voter Help and Revision Centre in order to make additions, deletions and corrections to the Preliminary List of Electors/Voters’ List by filling out an application to amend the Voters’ List and provide satisfactory identification.
The Voter Help and Revision Centre will also assist electors with the Internet Voting process, and other general election inquiries and will be supplied with an internet connection to accommodate voting during the voting period. You may also call the Township office at 705-489-2379 for assistance.
The following are the hours and locations of the Voter Help and Revision Centre:
- Township Administration Office, located at 1123 North Shore Road, Algonquin Highlands:
- Monday to Friday during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from September 1, 2022 to October 21, 2022 (closed on public holidays)
- Saturday, October 15, 2022 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Saturday, October 22, 2022 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Monday October 24, 2022 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (VOTING DAY)

Make Sure You are on the Voters’ List!
The 2022 Municipal/School Board Election will be conducted using Internet and Telephone Voting and will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022. Voter Information Letters will be mailed based on the List of Electors the week of October 3, 2022.
As of September 1, 2022, all electors should ensure that their names and relevant information are correct on the Voters’ List. To confirm if you are on the Voters’ List you may contact the Municipal Office at 705-489-2379. You may also attend the Municipal Office during regular office hours.
Revisions to the voters list will take place, on the Application to Amend the Voters’ List, and including the required identification, during regular office hours, each weekday, between September 1, 2022 to October 21, 2022 and to the close of Voting Day at 8:00 p.m. on October 24, 2022. The application shall be in writing and shall be filed in person at the Municipal Office at 1123 North Shore Road, Algonquin Highlands, ON, or by mail, or email by the applicant with the required identification. Proof of identity and residence as prescribed in O. Reg. 304/13 will be required of the applicant. If the applicant does not appear in person, a copy showing proof of ID and proof of residence/ occupancy is required to accompany the mailed or emailed application.
Qualifications of Electors:
A person is entitled to vote in a municipal election if he or she on voting day:
- resides in the local municipality, or is the owner or tenant of land in the municipality, or the spouse of such owner or tenant; and
- is a Canadian citizen, and
- is at least 18 years old, and
- is not prohibited from voting by law.
