The grand re-opening celebration of the Dorset Recreation Centre and official dedication of Tapscott-Lopes Park will take place this Saturday, July 27!
The festivities kick off at 11 a.m. at the pavilion, where you'll a find free, catered lunch from McKeck's and live music throughout the day. Speeches will take place at 11:30 a.m., after which residents will be able to head down Main Street and into the renovated DRC!
There will be children's
games and activities, including face-painting, and starting at 1 p.m., rec programming demonstrations including Zumba and the Ladies' Toning Class. Residents will also be able to check out Algonquin Highlands Fire Services' brand new pumper truck, which just arrived last week, and which will be pushed into Station 60 in a traditional ceremony. Music will be provided by 10-piece, Haliburton Highlands-based soul band Adverse Conditions.
The event will conclude at 2 p.m.
