September 19, 2024 Council Meeting Highlights

  • The Haliburton Highlands Water Trails continue to experience an increase in visitors year over year. Parks, Rec and Trails Manager Chris Card told Council that as of the end of August, the Water Trails had seen 24,000 users for the year. 

  • Between its grand re-opening in late July and the end of August, the Dorset Recreation Centre has had 1,300 users, with sales of annual memberships on the rise. 

  • The Township will apply for funding under the Province's Community Sport and Recreation Fund for further HVAC upgrades at the Dorset Recreation Centre, as well as a dedicated, outdoor pickleball court that would be located in the park along North Shore Road in Stanhope. 

  • Public Works Manager Adam Thorn reported his department had recently installed new fencing around the Maple Lake Cemetery.
