Winter snow-clearing reminders from AH
With the snow once again upon us, here are few friendly reminders of ways Algonquin Highlands residents can help keep local roads safe for snow-clearing operations this winter. Thanks for your assistance!
- Pushing snow onto or across municipal roadways can be dangerous as in fact illegal under the Highway Traffic Act and Algonquin Highlands by-laws.
- Parking along municipal roadways between midnight and 7 a.m. is prohibited and may result in fines for vehicle owners.
- Parking in any manner that interferes with plowing or sanding operations is prohibited.
- While the Canada Post strike continues, residents are asked to keep their mailboxes free of snow, as it's important for Township Public Works staff to be able to see them while plowing the roads.
