Terminal Building Intermittently Closed

Please note that while the Stanhope Municipal Airport remains open, the terminal building will be intermittently closed while the Township recruits a new Airport Coordinator. Public Works Staff will at times be available on site during the interim. If airport clients require assistance at any time, they are asked to call 705-754-5450 or 705-489-2379.

Airport Events

The Stanhope Municipal Airport is well known as one of the best recreational airports in Ontario. The Stanhope Municipal Airport Advisory Committee plans and hosts a variety of aviation related events at the airport which draw visitors from near and far by foot, car, bicycle and of course - by plane!

Upcoming Events

Grab your hat, sunglasses and sunscreen and head to Stanhope on Saturday, July 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Stanhope Airport and Community Summer Fly-In!

Supported by the Stanhope Municipal Airport Advisory Committee, this fun-filled summer favourite will feature a wide array of classic, experimental and unique aircraft; a great 
variety of food including stone-fired pizza, chicken, Thai food, hamburgers and hotdogs; model aircraft; firefighting equipment and much more.

There will be local vendors and artisans on site, and an auto extrication demonstration by Algonquin Highlands Fire Services is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. Airplane and 
helicopter rides will be available for a fee for those who wish to see the Haliburton Highlands from above.

The annual Fall Colours Fly-In is scheduled for Saturday, September 28. The fall event will include a classic car show.

Classic Events

Enjoy a summer day with the family checking out vintage aircraft, learning about Ministry of Natural Resources firefighting, seeing AHFS fire equipment up close, or taking in the Haliburton Highlands from above with an airplane or helicopter ride. A variety of food and drink is also available. Admission is free. 

The next summer fly-in is scheduled for July 13, 2024.
