  • Special Meeting Agenda: Projects and Priorities 2025

    Algonquin Highlands Council will commence its 2025 Budget discussions with a special Projects and Priorities meeting on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 9 a.m. This is chance for members of Council to hear about potential priority projects for the upcoming year from senior Staff.

    We are excited to offer residents some new ways to connect with the Township of Algonquin Highlands!

  • Remembrance Day hours at AH facilities

    Please note the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road will be closed on Monday, November 11 in observance of Remembrance Day, re-opening to the public at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12. The Dorset Recreation Centre and AH Trails Office will also be closed for Remembrance Day. 

  • Reservations required to visit Dorset Tower this weekend

    Please note that due to high demand, reservations will be needed to visit the Dorset Tower on Saturday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 27. Reservations can be made as of 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 on the AH Trails website. 

  • Thanksgiving hours at Algonquin Highlands facilities

    Please note the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office will be closed on Monday, October 14, re-opening to the public at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15. The AH Trails Office will also be closed for Thanksgiving Monday.

  • Privies currently unavailable at Stanhope Park

    Please note that the privies at the park near the Stanhope Courts along North Shore Road are currently unavailable. There are public washrooms located just up the street at the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road, which are open between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. Washrooms are also available at the Stanhope branch of the Haliburton County Public Library during its operating hours. 

  • Arts & Crafts Show at Dorset Recreation Centre on Oct. 12

    The Dorset Arts & Crafts Show takes place Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dorset Recreation Centre and will feature local artisans selling a variety of items. There will be pottery; wood working pieces; images from Muskoka, Haliburton and Algonquin; oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings; quilting; folk art; rugs; candles; diffusers; fused glass ornaments; pendants; and much more! Come and see us in the gymnasium and support the local artisans. There will be sandwiches and pie available to purchase for lunch.
