    WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Algonquin Highlands has declared part of the original road allowance between Lots 15 & 16, Concession 8, in the geographic Township of Stanhope, in the Township of Algonquin Highlands, County of Haliburton, to be surplus.

  • NOTICE: Application to Purchase Road Allowance AH-RA-004-23

    WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Algonquin Highlands has declared part of the original shore road allowance in front of and part of the original road allowance adjacent to Lot 6, Concession 14, Tock Lake, in the geographic Township of Sherborne, in the Township of Algonquin Highlands, County of Haliburton, to be surplus.

  • Stanhope Airport and Community Summer Fly-In on July 13

    Grab your hat, sunglasses and sunscreen and head to Stanhope on Saturday, July 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Stanhope Airport and Community Summer Fly-In!

  • Stanhope Heritage Museum opens for summer this weekend

    The Stanhope Heritage Museum will open for the summer this Saturday, June 29! Come and check out the new exhibits, including one about Camp Kawabi and one the settlement of Maple Lake The museum will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., until Labour Day Weekend. 

  • Celebrate Canada Day in Oxtongue Lake

    Celebrate Canada Day at the Oxtongue Lake Community Centre (3979 Highway 60) on Monday, July 1. The fun gets underway at 11 a.m. and will include a live band, face-painting, balloon art, a photo booth, silent auction, draws, a bike giveaway, games and more! There will be a barbecued lunch and pizza available for purchase. The event wraps up at 2 p.m. 

  • Stanhope library branch closed June 26 through July 1

    Please note the Stanhope branch of the Haliburton County Public Library will be closed Wednesday, June 26 through Monday, July 1 while the concrete walkway outside the building is replaced. We thank residents for their patience. 

  • Take the Communications Plan Refresh Survey

    The Township of Algonquin Highlands is updating its Corporate Communications Plan in 2024, and you can be part of that process by taking a brief survey.

  • Dorset Arts, Crafts and Antiques Show takes place June 29

    Join us at the Dorset Parkette (22602 Highway 35) on Saturday, June 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Dorset Arts, Crafts and Antiques Show. Support local artisans and enjoy music by Junkyard Symphony (sponsored by Dorset Community Partnership) with show times at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

    Take Notice: An Application for a Minor Variance from the provisions of Comprehensive Zoning ByLaw 2022-49 has been submitted to the Township of Algonquin Highlands Committee of Adjustment, 
    the approval authority in these matters. The Application has been reviewed and has been found to be 
    complete.

    Take Notice: An Application for a Minor Variance from the provisions of Comprehensive Zoning ByLaw 2022-49 has been submitted to the Township of Algonquin Highlands Committee of Adjustment, 
    the approval authority in these matters. The Application has been reviewed and has been found to be 
    complete.
