A special meeting of Algonquin Highlands Council will take place on the morning of Tuesday, June 9 commencing at 9 a.m. This meeting has been scheduled in order to proceed with the business, as amended, of Council from its cancelled May 21, 2026 regular meeting.

TAKE NOTICE that a Special Meeting of Council Agenda will be held on June 9, 2026, at 9:00 AM.

The community is invited to the official opening ceremony for the new natural/green burial section of St. Stephen’s Cemetery this Sunday, May 31 at 1 p.m.

Please note that the Algonquin Highlands Council meeting that had been scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 21 has been cancelled. Residents will be informed if the meeting is rescheduled. 

Due to the forecasted weather conditions, we regret to inform the community the Spring Fly-In at Stanhope Municipal Airport has been cancelled for this Saturday, May 23. Due to the forecasted inclement weather, we will not be proceeding with a rain date on Sunday, May 24 either.

The next regular meeting of Algonquin Highlands Council takes place this Thursday, May 21 commencing at 9 a.m. You can view the agenda, which includes a link to the livestream, here.

Please note the Township of Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office and Dorset Recreation Centre will both be CLOSED on Monday, May 18 in observance of Victoria Day. The office and the DRC will re-open for their regular operating hours on the morning of Tuesday, May 19. 

The ever-popular Dorset Arts & Crafts Show will return to the parkette along Highway 35 on Sunday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. New vendors are welcome, including all types of artists and artisans!
